Bude, Cornwall
A 10 minute drive along the coast from Bude, perched on a gently sloping hill with fantastic views of Widemouth Bay. A fair few caravans and a small games room mean it does teeter towards its self titled holiday park status but the wide open untamed grass and hedgerows just keep it in the farm campsite category.
The distance from Bude could be a downside for some but on the flip side you are a couple minutes drive from the surf beach of Black Rock which is at the southern end of Widemouth Bay.
The facilities were clean, in good condition and crucially the showers were hot and free - who carries a bag of 20p coins these days?!
Top Tip
The bottom of the field has an ever steepening gradient that not even the most expert chock placement can mitigate. As there are no defined pitches make sure you’re not the last to arrive at busy times.
